A paved loop through 57 acres of preserved natural land in the heart of South Ogden, with mountain views and several unpaved spur trails. Wide, flat main path is a reliable year-round option.

Tip. Park at the main trailhead off Park Vista Drive near 5874 S. Park Vista Dr. Street-side entry points also at 1375 E 5875 S and 1150 E 6000 S.
Burch Creek Trail
Hard3.2 miles out-and-back
A canyon trail that climbs 1,135 feet through a forested drainage. Several creek crossings and overgrown sections make this a workout, but the forested shade and waterfall make it worth it for fit dogs.

Tip. Trailhead parking near 4600 Burch Creek Dr, Ogden. Creek crossings can be slippery in spring runoff, bring a towel.

Annual Dog Licensing Required
All dogs in South Ogden must be licensed every year through the South Ogden Police Department before March 1.
Owners must present a current rabies vaccination certificate. Spayed or neutered dogs receive a reduced fee and can qualify for a lifetime license if microchipped. Licensing handled at the South Ogden Police Department, 3950 S Adams Ave.
Dogs must be on a leash in South Ogden City parks. The only off-leash exception is the fenced area at Club Heights Dog Park.
South Ogden allows leashed dogs at 40th Street Park, Nature Park, and Glasmann Park. The off-leash exception applies only within the fenced Club Heights Dog Park. Ordinance 23-07 (April 2023) governs leash and animal requirements.
South Ogden City limits households to no more than 2 dogs and 3 cats.
Per South Ogden City Code Title 5, households may keep a maximum of 2 dogs. Loose-dog complaints are handled by the Animal Services officer via Weber Dispatch at (801) 395-8221.
