We started using Away Home Pet Care three months ago, when we moved to Layton. Robert, the owner, met with us and walked through our whole routine, taking notes and listening to our needs. We both work full time and have a long commute, and our two older dogs can’t hold it in that long, so our assigned walker, Megan, has been coming to walk them around noon every day. They get to go potty, stretch their legs, and get love and affection. We’ve been really happy with the communication, attention to detail, and with how our dogs have responded to the routine. They love Megan, and she has been great with handling “extras” like when they are naughty and get into the trash, she picks it up, or fills their water dish if it’s low. She has also handled the occasional evening feeding when we are home late, for the dogs and for our horses, which is a great bonus to have someone who can handle the whole zoo. The billing and communication is easy through the app, the pricing is fair, and the consistency and professionalism we get is worth it. We had previously used a Rover sitter before we moved, but always worried about what would happen if they were sick or unavailable. With Away, we don’t have to worry about that, as there’s always someone to cover. I will continue to use this service and highly recommend them.

Wow!! Robert and his team went above and beyond for my cat while we were away. I have never hired a pet sitter and our cat usually travels with us and has never been left alone. I was so worried about what we were going to do with our cat because we just couldn’t take him with us this past trip. We tossed the idea around to ask some friends to pop in to watch him but weren’t sure if they could even commit to twice a day so we started looking up pet sitters. Away Home & Pet Care had so many great reviews that we decided to try it. Robert came out for a meet and greet with us and our cat Harry. I immediately felt calm once I met Robert. I knew Harry would be in good hands. During our trip, Away Home & Pet Care came to visit with Harry twice a day to feed him and keep him company. Each time they checked in with me through their amazing app and even sent pictures!! Harry looked very happy and seemed to not even miss us. It definitely helped us soooo much while we were away to not have to worry. I am so glad I found Robert and Away Home & Pet Care. We hired Away Home & Pet Care to house sit while we were moving to Ogden from Texas. We rented the house unseen and needed help getting keys, checking the fence, making sure the packages that we’re being delivered got into the house and we needed pictures taken before we got here. There was a lot to do and we were in Texas. Robert took care of EVERYTHING for us. He took measurements, checked mail, checked lights and appliances, set the temperature, checked the fence, took a ton of pics for us, and he brought in (huge) packages for us. He also took pics of some important information the property management company left for us so we could address some issues. He always gave us a report after each visit and if he saw anything of concern he let us know. He went above and beyond and I can’t thank him enough. I never worried about our house here in Ogden while I was wrapping things up in Texas and I had a lot to deal with. It was so nice to not have to worry about anything here because I knew Robert was taking care of everything. We have 2 dogs and we like to travel so I will 100% be using Away Home & Pet Care in the future to stay with our babies.

Robert and his team are the most caring, competent, and communicative pet caregivers I have ever met! We recently got a new puppy, and both my husband and I work outside the home. Robert came for an initial interview before we brought our puppy home, and I was so impressed with his commitment to providing excellent care! We set up a care schedule, then implemented it when the puppy arrived. I’m a neurotic pet-mommy, and worry about the well-being of my pet baby. Robert is a god-send for me. He is always on time for the lunchtime walk, takes amazing care of our puppy, sends me a picture updates and a report card each day after the lunchtime walk (which puts my neurotic mommy-ness at ease) and most importantly – my puppy is impeccably cared for. My puppy adores Robert! He is so comfortable with Robert and is always so happy after the lunchtime walk. If you are looking for a pet care service that will love and care for your dog as much as you do, Robert is the person to call! I’m so incredibly grateful that we have this incredible service in our local area!

When we had to drop everything and go out of town we called Away Home and were thrilled that Robert was able to come by so quickly. His appearance and decorum was neat and tidy, very professional. He was very detail oriented, very good with our two dogs and cat. They took to him right away. He took detailed notes on all our pets’ needs and we felt confident he would take excellent care of them. The rates were very reasonable for two visits (morning and night), and we loved how he shared a well being report with us from each visit which included a short description of the visit and pictures. When we arrived home we found that Robert also left a fantastic picture collage of our pets. Super cute, and much appreciated. All in all, it’s clear that Robert takes pride in going the extra mile, and we will definitely be hiring him for all our future trips. It’s so nice, and much less stressful on our pets, to enable them to stay at home while still receiving truly excellent care. Thank you, Robert!

Wow! We’ve never used a pet sitter before and were a little nervous trusting our cat to a stranger but also knew we didn’t want to board her since she hates it. We spent our time researching options in the Ogden area and were drawn to the reviews and professional looking website for Away Home & Pet Care and decided to book with them. Great choice! The meet and greet went smoothly and we immediately felt at ease with Robert and knew our cat would be in good hands. During our trip we got daily updates (including pictures) and it really let us relax and enjoy our trip knowing everything was well at home. Our cat is not the most social and we really appreciated Robert letting her go at her own pace. The app worked great even overseas and scheduling was a breeze. Will absolutely use them again for future trips!

Robert and his staff at Away Home are terrific! I have always used a similar pet sitting service for almost 10 years in the Salt Lake area, which I had no complaints, but when I moved up north to the Ogden area I was so worried about finding a new sitter that could offer the same services for around the same cost! Well, I was in luck and stumbled across Away Home Pet Care! They not only were as good as my previous sitter, but surpassed them as well! Super convenient and user friendly App and payment options… Definitely a step above! Super professional while being fun and trustworthy! They really do go above and beyond with daily reports and pictures of your babies! Thank you Robert! You will not be disappointed trusting them with your fur babies and home while you are away. 🙂

Peace of mind like this helps us enjoy our trips without worrying how things are going at home. This is by far our favorite way to have Stella and Gigi taken care of while we are away from home. We had to travel somewhat last minute for a funeral last month, and Robert and team were extremely helpful in getting everything set up for us. They sent us pictures and a summary of how things are going at home every single time they stopped by. We didn’t have to worry or even wonder how things were going at home – we knew how things were going at home because of the updates that came through the app and email alerts. I think you can tell from this and the other reviews that Robert is an extremely warm and kind person who genuinely loves animals.

Robert and his team are totally amazing. I have two cats and I have had to go away for a couple of weeks at a time for business and knowing that Robert was looking after them removed any stress and worry that I might have had about their well-being and safety. I received detailed report visits every time with photos and information about their mood and eating. Robert always went above and beyond pet sitting also keeping an eye on my place and vacuuming before my return. What more can I say! I hired these guys to take care of my aunts cats while she was in a recovery center sick for a couple months. They completely put our mind at ease. We got pictures each day and a check list of what they did while there. The cats were actually happy to see them each day. They also took care of anything else we needed in the house(mail, watering plants, etc). We will be hiring them again for when she goes on vacation. I can’t recommend these guys enough. So so so wonderful to have this service available. Also, not only did they take care of the cats, each day through app/text communication, I could really feel that they were happy to do this and really enjoy the work they are in. Just so pleased with them.

My husband and I had very recently moved to the area, and didn’t have any friends or family to be able to keep an eye on our fur babies for a Thanksgiving trip, which we had done in the past. I looked up pet sitters on Google and found all of the wonderful reviews for Away and Home so I decided to take a chance. Robert was very understanding of my anxiety around hiring a sitter and made the process so easy. He helped us out again on a last minute Christmas trip and made sure all of our babies were very well taken care of, even when one of our cats decided to hide for a couple days. I can’t recommend Away and Home more, and I’m so happy I took a chance on such a wonderful business.

We had a family emergency where we had to leave town the same day for an undetermined amount of time. Robert came to the rescue. He came by morning and evening to visit with our two cats. One of our cats has to take daily medication both morning and evening. We felt so relieved knowing that they were in good hands and getting their medication. We got a notification/update from Robert each time he visited our cats (morning and evening) which included photos of the cats which helped alleviate us worrying and missing them so much. It’s the best pet sitting service we have ever used. Highly recommend and will be using them again soon.

Away Home is the BEST pet care service! Robert regularly walks our dogs while we are at work, has visited kitties when we were out of town with the dogs, and recently stayed in our home with all (6) of our pets while we were on vacation. I love that they offer overnight pet sitting! It was such a relief to know everyone was being taken care of by a professional at home while we were away. We loved getting the daily updates and can tell from the photos that they were having a great time with him. Robert even took the time to get to know and win over our “moody” kitties. The prices are very reasonable for such exceptional care.

What an amazing experience! Our rescue pup has an incredibly hard time with traveling and with new people – so we weren’t sure what to do with him foe a long weekend getaway. Robert was wonderful. He started with a meet and greet – where our dog made sure to let him know he wasn’t happy about him being in our home – to by the third day of our trip – the dog was letting Robert come in, give belly rubs and snuggles and having no issues with him at all. It was incredible peace of mind for us. The other bonus was having our mail brought in and the air conditioning on when we got home. Can’t recommend enough.

We were a little nervous about getting a pet sitter for our three cats, two of them seniors, but Robert tamed those fears with his first meet and greet visit. He made friends with our cats and had our very senior cat (16) coming out for pets soon after we left. It was such a relief to enjoy our trip away (2 weeks) and know they were in good hands. We were also concerned about the health of our senior cats with someone else, but they are in good shape and not at all nervous as they would be if they had gone to a kennel. We would definitely employ Robert and Away Home & Pet Care on another vacation.

First time using Away Home &Pet Care. On the meet and greet, they (Megan and Robert) were on time. They were friendly. Had no problem getting on the floor to meet our 4 legged kids. Robert and Megan asked questions, took notes and took an interest in our pets. They went out of the way to make sure one of our cats ate. They tried hand feeding, and finally found that he liked to eat alone, when his humans where gone. Knowing we have people here taking the time they promise is so nice. We had Robert take care of our cats for the first time this weekend. We selected his service based on the many excellent reviews and the professionalism of his website and contract. Our cats are part of the family and we take their comfort and happiness seriously — our senior kiddo needs meds and extra time and it’s hard to leave him!!! We did a met and greet with Robert before we left and could tell he was a cat person and they would be just fine in his care. We loved receiving the photos and updates at each visit. Thank you very much for your kind care of our beloved cats.

My dogs are needy! One is too old for stairs and long walks the other is young and wild and Robert(our wonderful dog walker) goes above and beyond to make sure both of them get the amount of walking and pets needed. He truly cares about my pets. I recently have had a lot of last minute things come up and a newly neutered boy who also has separation anxiety and has to have a vest and a weenie wrap and Robert makes sure he’s all geared up before he leaves. I get pictures and updates at the end of every visit. I highly recommend this company. They truly care for my fur babies.
